The purpose of the Memorial Garden is to provide an area of beauty and dignity for the caring disposition of the cremated remains of loved ones. It serves to unite the church family and offers comfort to those who wish to remain close to the church even in death. The garden provides an alternative memorial that is suited to our beliefs and is accessible to all of our members. Only current and former members of Skidaway Island United Methodist Church and their immediate families may be interred in the garden or memorial wall.

Disposition of ashes may be of three types:

In a biodegradable holder buried in the ground among the plantings.

In a container within a niche in the memorial wall.

Scattered within the garden.

The Memorial Garden Committee is responsible for formulating policies and procedures and shall govern the operation of the garden.  For a list of the policies, procedures and fees, please contact the church office.
