The Arts on Skidaway Concert Series is our Music Ministry's outreach to the community. The series showcases the talents of professional musicians, as well as church members and ensembles.

Nunsense: The Musical, 2017
Past programs include The Centurymen, the Russian choir "Lyra", The Raleigh Ringers, “The Blonde, the Brunette and the Redhead” soprano trio, organists Timothy Albrecht, John Behnke, and Carolyn Hamlin, pianist David Thompson, guitarist Brian Luckett, soprano Michelle Jarrell, tenor Vale Rideout, trumpeter David Marley, and British conductor Paul Leddington Wright. Once each year the concert series features a theatrical production. Past musicals include Rogers and Hammerstein’s “Carousel-In Concert,” “Broadway Prayers,” “Smoke on the Mountain” and “The Sound of Music.”

Steven Elisha (cellist) & Larisa Elisha (violinist)

The Elaris Duo features Larisa Elisha on violin and her husband, Steven Elisha on cello. Both artists are internationally acclaimed soloists, chamber musicians and clinicians. Currently they are on the faculty of the Music Department of Georgia Southern at Statesboro.
Savannah Classical Academy (strings)

The string players of the Savannah Classical Academy will present a concert at 6:30 pm under the baton of Sinisa Ciric, concertmaster of the Savannah Philharmonic Orchestra.
Festival Service of Nine Lessons and Carols

This traditional service ushers in the Season of Advent, featuring the SIUMC Chancel Choir accompanied by soloists, brass instruments, and organ, conducted by Paul Chant, Director of Music.
Kurt Ollman (baritone)

Renowned baritone and Savannah resident Kurt Ollmann presents a vocal recital accompanied by his trio of musicians. Ollmann distinguished himself in opera, musical theatre, and solo recitals, and he is known for his frequent musical association with composer and conductor Leonard Bernstein.
Paolo Andre Gualdi (concert pianist)

After two appearances at SIUMC as a collaborative pianist, Paolo André Gualdi returns in a solo piano performance. Gualdi has played for audiences all over the world and has won top prize in international piano competitions such as the 15th Bartok-Kavalevsky International Piano Competition.

This Baroque ensemble gives one of its historically-informed performances, led by Jeana Melilli, Baroque flute. Other players include Erika Cutler, Baroque violin, Marcy Brenner, viola da gamba, and Patrick Hawkins, harpsichord. Savannah audiences know Melilli as the principal flutist of the Savannah Philharmonic Orchestra.
Our church is also honored to host the American Traditions Competition during the month of February.
