SIUMC offers, to church and non-members alike, two monthly exercise programs to encourage a healthy lifestyle. Classes are led by Elena Bennett, a professional fitness instructor and personal trainer certified by the American College of Sports Medicine, with over 25 years of teaching experience. A resident of the Landings since 2017, she also is a member of SIUMC.
Mat Pilates
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays | 9:15 am - 10:10 am
Bailey Hall
This class features a series of traditional Pilates floor exercises designed to strengthen core muscles, stretch and tone the body, and improve posture. Using a mat for cushioning and support, moves are adapted according to the participant's fitness level and abilities. Participants must be able to lie down and stand up from the floor.
Sit-Fit!
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays | 10:15 am - 11:10 am
Bailey Hall
Gain strength, stability and flexibility all while exercising from a chair! This class features easy-to-perform exercises designed for beginners/intermediates, as well as those with balance, joint and movement issues.
Cost:
$5.00 per class for 8 or more classes
$6.25 per class for less than 8 classes
Payment may be submitted at the first class of each month.
