Rev. Hale Bishop, as senior pastor at Skidaway Island United Methodist Church, is committed to leading people to Christ, growing our love for God and demonstrating that love in service to others.
Hale had a career in the plumbing and HVAC industry before accepting the call to ministry at the age of thirty. After finishing his undergrad degree, Hale enrolled in Erskine Seminary at Associate Reformed Presbyterian College in South Carolina and went on to serve as associate pastor at Valdosta First UMC. He has served as senior pastor at Trinity Chapel UMC on Tybee Island, First UMC in Moultrie, Georgia and Park Avenue Methodist Church in Valdosta, Georgia.
Hale has been married to Meg for over 33 years. She has a master’s degree in curriculum development from Valdosta State University and currently teaches high school English language arts. Hale and Meg have two daughters, Taylor and Abi.
Hale loves his family, golf and preaching. His deepest desire is to continue the legacy of Skidaway Island United Methodist Church as a community of faith that believes all are welcome, and all are of significant worth and importance to our Savior Jesus Christ
