40 Days of Renewal_1 (1).png

Here are upcoming Lent activities, services and information.  See the dates below, followed by special bible studies and more.

Important Dates

Change to Communion - April 3rd

We will resume having the congregation come to the altar and receiving the elements of communion while

kneeling as you are able. The bread will be placed in your hand and the juice will be offered following in

communion cups as we did prior to Covid. If you are unable to kneel, you can stand or even have communion

served to you in your seat by alerting the ushers. Also, we will continue to make the fellowship cups available if

you are uncomfortable with this return to communion service.

Maundy Thursday - April 14

Join Us for a Special Service of Remembrance

Prior to Covid we had a Maundy Thursday service in the chapel that was meaningful to many who attended. This year we will repeat this service in hopes that all will be able to share in this meaningful experience as we remember the Last Supper.

The table will be set for 12 to be served, and you may drop by between 5:00 PM—6:30 PM. As we have a full table, we will share a common loaf and juice will be poured for each person as the lectionary text from John’s Gospel is read. We will be able to imagine that we sit with Christ hearing his instruction, sharing in the meal, and being charged to love one another. We hope you will join us for this time of inspiration during Holy week.

Good Friday - April 15

Join Us for Faure's "Requiem" Conducted by Paul Chant

Beautiful music is planned from "Requiem" by Gabriel Faure, 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary.
It will feature the Chancel Choir, soloists Emily Grundstad-Hall and Kurt Ollmann, guest singers,
and a chamber orchestra from the Savannah Philharmonic.  Conducted by Paul Chant.

Easter Sunday - April 17

NEW TIMES!  Two identical Easter Celebrations at 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary. Easter Sunday                                                            music includes "I Was Glad" by Charles Hubert Hastings Parry, "Crown Him" by Dan Forrest, and "Hallelujah                                                            Chorus" (from Messiah) by George Frederic Handel, with choir, soloists, and a brass quintet from Georgia                                                                Southern University.
